At Freedom Rehabilitation we strive to get our clients back to what matters most. We assist individuals with recent injury, long term injury, and musculoskeletal, and neurologic conditions with returning to the activities that make life meaningful.

Freedom Rehabilitation's physical therapists are experts in using active approaches to rehabilitation. We believe that movement is the key to success. We use our experience and expertise to employ techniques that are supported by research and well established in the physical therapy field.

One of the main barriers to consistent care is time. We remove this barrier by coming to you! No more traveling to an office, waiting, and then returning to your point of origin. Since we are available on a by appointment request basis, we can offer a broader range of treatment times and flexibility.

If you value expertise, your time, and flexibility Freedom Rehabilitation is the right fit for you. To help you determine if we are a good fit we provide a 15 minute free phone screening to determine if we can provide you with the help you need.

Our focus is always on active, evidence-based interventions. We do not perform passive interventions, like heat and ice because they are not effective at solving the root cause of our client's issues. We have a wide breadth of clinical skills and techniques that we use. Below we have listed some of our areas of more in depth training and expertise:
We have experience with evaluating workplace ergonomics and creating recommendations and plans for workspaces that are designed to reduce the risk of injury, and promote a healthy, happy workforce. We are happy to consult with individuals, or companies on ways to make their workspaces more user friendly, and comfortable for their employees.
Our physical therapists have backgrounds in kinesiology, exercise and sports physiology, body mechanics, and strength and conditioning. We create exercise programs that are targeted and challenge the correct muscle groups at the optimum intensity to fast-track recovery.
Our therapists have been trained in LSVT BIG interventions. LSVT Big trains individuals diagnosed with Parkinson Disease (PD) to improve their movements for any activity. LSVT BIG is customized to each person and can help regardless of condition stage or severity. The best results are when you begin your LSVT BIG program before you have noticed significant balance, mobility, or posture problems.
The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) is a safe and effective evaluation and treatment system for the management of spinal and extremity musculoskeletal disorders. MDT is a comprehensive assessment and management approach that focuses on the patient’s potential to self-manage and recover with the guidance of a physical therapist. This method often negates the need for more expensive testing such as x-rays and MRIs.
We have received training in instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), trigger point release, joint mobilization, and other manual therapy techniques that allow us to manage our patient’s pain, or promote improved muscle recruitment to advance our patients to independent management of their condition.
We have experience in treating patients with a variety of conditions and across the age spectrum. These are some areas of expertise:
We assist our patient's in the management and recovery from injuries incurred in a variety of ways. We have specialized experience in treating endurance athletes, in addition to treating acute injuries incurred in high contact sports, and post-operative injuries.
As our understanding of the body's pain systems deepens, we are learning that pain is a physical, mental, and emotional experience. At Freedom Rehabilitation we provide a comprehensive approach to pain that includes education, exercise, and graded exposure to address the physical, cognitive, and emotional aspects of pain.
Whether from a past injury or a medical condition, we have extensive experience in treating individuals with chronic disability. We focus on improving your function in ways that are meaningful, and impactful to you.
We have experience treating an array of neurologic diagnoses. Our staff has expertise in treating conditions that are traumatic like spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury, and non-traumatic like stroke, Parkinson's Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.

We are experienced in helping individuals across the age spectrum recover. We do not limit ourselves to one age group because we feel that everyone deserves high quality care.

Freedom Rehabilitation offers services where it is most convenient for our clients. Home, office, or virtually - we will see you there. Our epicenter of operation is in Arlington, Virginia and we make visits inside of the Beltway (495). Visits located outside of the Beltway will be assessed an additional fee depending on distance from the beltway. We do not provide services in Maryland or Washington, DC at this time.

Here are some things to take into consideration when choosing a location for your physical therapy appointments:
This is a personal question for you to consider. There are many things that may make you feel uncomfortable with performing physical therapy in a public environment that is not a medical office. We encourage you to explore these concerns and be honest with yourself about your comfort level.
If you do great! If not, make sure to seek permission! For treatment sessions located outside of the home, Freedom Rehabilitation will require written permission from an individual authorized to provide said permissions.
For appointments that occur in the office, gym, or other more public space you will want to make sure that colleagues or strangers cannot easily overhear any information you may not wish for them to know.
We do not require a large space, but enough room to set up a massage sized treatment table with room for the therapist to walk around all sides and for you to do a jump squat and planks is necessary.

We see people immediately after injury, or long after injury has occurred. Since we are available on a by appointment request basis, we can offer a broader range of treatment times and flexibility.
